geek parental pride

200px-Hartnellwilliam.jpgThe past few nights my two sons (ages 7 & 10) and I have been in a routine of playing a few rounds ofMagic_the_gathering-card_back.jpg Magic: the Gathering and then settling in to watch a few old episodes of Doctor Who…all at their request. I am a proud dad, indeed.

Awesome! Last night N and I played the Spider-Man 3 set of Attacktix. Fun, fun, fun! I let his near misses be hits to give him a chance (not that I can hit the broad side of a barn with those things anyway :-). Also played Railroad Tycoon for about 45 minutes this weekend (his request). It was cool; while of course not understanding strategy at all, he did understand that to lay track costs money, and to get money you need to issue shares. Didn’t make the deliver goods = get more money at the end of your turn connection though. Oh, and he also set half the (limited part we played on) board up by himself (put correct number of cubes in each city).
